Dan Gabor 2000


First, A big thanks to everyone that came out to support the Dan Gabor Memorial Savage Seven Tournament. As I watched the lighting storms move across our area Friday night, my concern was in what conditions we would end up playing. However, by 11 o'clock Saturday the clouds had thinned out and the games began. Three brackets of five teams played four games each to determine the top eight seeds. The bracket to the final pitted Assorted Nuts vs. Hooters, St. Louis vs. Jesus & Pals (college team), Head Cases vs. High Rollers, and POW vs. Cum Again. With the sun breaking out, the afternoon games heated up. Nuts got by Hooters, POW squeezed past Cum Again, the High Rollers fell to the Head Cases, and Jesus & Pals received another lesson in the true "spirit of St. Louis" (sorry, guys). The action was fast paced as Assorted Nuts strolled past St. Louis in the finals. Big hucks to open deeps and incredible defenses were keys to success; everyone but St. Louis saw it coming.

The party was a hit: thanks to George's Majestic Lounge, The Tares, Mertons, El Fuego & 3 Legged Dog for donating time & energy to help our cause. I hope everyone had a good Memorial weekend, and until next year, keep Running Like Dan.
