McCurry Park Disc Golf Course Review: A Tale of Two Terrains
Welcome back, my fellow plastic addicts. I’ve journeyed to the beautiful McCurry Park in Fayetteville, GA, to play a side of the course that put my precision and control to the test.
Course Overview
McCurry Park serves up a beefy challenge for disc golfers who aren’t afraid to flex their strategic muscles:
- 18 Holes
- Concrete Tees
- DISCatcher Pro (original) Targets
- Established in 2007
- Dogs Allowed
- Cart Friendly
McCurry Challenge – Accuracy Is Key
With its well-balanced blend of wooded and open terrains, McCurry tests how well we can adapt our game:
- Tee Pads – All the tees are concrete and well-maintained, providing a consistent, stable foundation for every throw.
- Fairways – While they’re clearly delineated, park-goers and pedestrians often infringe on them, making some shots nerve-wracking.
- Obstacles – The park’s wooded area is a particular challenge: fairways are narrow, trees aplenty, and strategy is paramount.
Course Amenities – Mind the Crowd
McCurry is equipped with all the essential amenities but often shared with park-goers:
- Signage – Excellent signs that provide hole information, but first-timers might want UDisc for navigation between holes.
- Restrooms – Good news: there are public restrooms. Bad news: they are sometimes frequented by non-disc golfing public, so do plan ahead.
- Trash Cans – A welcome sight on most holes. No need to haul trash around the course.

Course Design – Variety Is the Spice of Disc Golf
Flexibility is the key to a successful round at McCurry due to its contrasting landscapes:
- Dual Terrains – The mix between wooded and open terrains keeps the game from becoming monotonous and continually tests player adaptability.
- Shot Variety – Long putts, precise placement shots, and powerful drives – this course has it all.
- Navigation – The flow between holes is generally good, though a touch confusing during the first visit.
Recommendations for Improvement
There’s always room for imprExamining the landscape to identify possible pedestrian/dg conflicts and adjusting hole layout accordingly
- Further Maintenance – Frequent cleaning will ensure the course is always in its best possible condition.
- Add Brooms – Having brooms available for tee pad cleanup would be a small but impactful touch.

McCurry Park offers a challenging yet rewarding game to those preferring strategical placement over brute force.
Just be mindful of the non-disc golfing public – they’re a part of the challenge here. If they can be reasoned with your charm, you may have just unlocked McCurry’s secret to success!
